Instructions
Brandied Caramel Apples
  1. Mix ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside.
Spiced Brandy Glaze
  1. Mix together until smooth and set aside.
Fritter Batter
  1. Preheat oven to 350'. Line two 9" x 5" loaf pans with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl: cream together butter and sugar on medium speed for 1 minute. Add vanilla, yogurt and eggs and beat just until blended.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon and allspice and stir just until blended. Set aside.
Brownie Layer
  1. In a large mixing bowl: cream butter and sugar on medium speed for 1 minute. Add vanilla and eggs and beat just until mixed.
  2. Add chocolate, flour and baking powder and stir just until blended.
  3. Divide brownie batter between the two parchment lined loaf pans; spreading evenly to cover the bottom of each pan.
  4. Put 1/4 of the Fritter Batter into each pan and spread to cover the brownie layer. Next layer 1/4 of the Brandied Caramel Apples, then the remaining Fritter Batter dividing evenly between the two pans; spreading to cover the apple layer. Divide the remaining apples between the two pans; spreading evenly to cover the top of each loaf.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes, or just until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Carefully lift each loaf from the pan using the parchment paper to lift; set onto a wire rack. Drizzle each loaf with half of the Spiced Brandy Glaze. Let sit until completely cooled before cutting.
  7. NOTE: You may substitute fresh lemon juice for the brandy in this recipe.
